Well, the year has flown !
The one thing that I've noticed lately is that the older you get, the quicker the time marches on - do you ? (Of course, if you're in your 20's, you're lucky !). We've finished our first full year as a company with two directors, as opposed to it being a sole-trader, one man band.
It's so much easier when you've got someone to take the administrative side of things off your plate, especially when it gets busy. Jason has been an invaluable part of the business, taking care of the invoicing, client contact, phones, banking, word counts and everything else that I don't need to worry about when I'm trying to juggle 3 projects at a time (which has happened a couple of times this year !).
In 2012, Jason will be taking on the title of Business Manager and also going through training to edit projects, so that in those busy times I can continue to record Project 2 while he edits Project 1 - it's how we achieve our quick turnarounds, and we're proud of that, being a small company.
We've also brought on board more male and female voices when the call is made for them - ranging from younger to older, corporate to commercial. They are not employees of ours, but simply a great resource when you're looking for a voice that I can't cover (I've tried the female thing, but it's only good if you want someone that sounds like they're fresh from a drag show !).
We've also worked with many eLearning companies across Melbourne and Australia, and have in turn worked with many end clients that include Fair Work Australia, Telstra, Westpac, CareSuper and many more. It's simple - we are specialists in eLearning narration, and will be powering into 2012 doing that on an even bigger scale. We find the bulk of the work is for projects that are for illiterate users, and in that way we think we're doing something good for the world !
For 2012, we're looking to move from Melbourne's south east suburbs to a location a lot closer to the city - 95% of our Melbourne clients are there, and it's nice to not travel so much. We're also looking into possibly having a separate office in the area as well, so we'll keep you posted on that too.
Apart from that, we appreciate the work we've done with the clients we have, and look forward to more of the same and to welcome on board new partnerships in the next 12 months to become the 'go-to' company for voice overs and audio production.
Enjoy the break, take care of yourself and your loved ones .... and we'll talk to you in the second year of the second decade of the 21st century !
